For decades, Jaipur has been one of the top tourist destinations and therefore, quite popular among travelers. Walking tours in Jaipur have become popular over the last few years but evolved over the last two decades. 

It is no surprise that tour agencies have been feeding travelers with preconceived ideas that travelers have in their mind. These ideas have been bombarded by media over decades. Pictures of elephants, cows, impoverished begging on the street, snake charmers etc are quite common. For many, these are exotic sights considering the fact that geographic region they live in doesn’t have any such sights. The tour agencies believe travelers will love seeing things that don’t exist in their country. Therefore, places with large congregations of people, devotees buying prasad and flowers, making offerings to deities, buying vegetables etc. are sights tour agencies want tourists to witness. These are typical sights that have been fed to tourists visiting India for years. Tour agencies find it easier to sell stereotypical images because it requires little effort.  

I do understand their point of view and also the fact that many tourists visit India for these sights because they have been fed such images.
